The Reasons Behind The Popularity of Florida Bass Fishing

It is widely known that Florida is renown as a bastion for fishing enthusiasts, a number of fish stand out as the most sought after. This list generally includes the crappie, the pickerel, the yellow catfish, the oscar, the bluegill, the redeared sunfish, and, of course, the black bass, which is perhaps the most sought after out of all the fish in Florida.

Large populations of bass fish in Southwestern Florida have spurred a fishing frenzy – from leisure fishing to commercial fishing to sport fishing. If you follow any fishing channels or outdoors channels, you are more than likely to encounter several Florida bass fishing tournaments in less than a month.

Currently, the most sought after target of Florida bass fishing anglers is the largemouth bass. This is probably because these fish can put up a fight. Weighing in at as much as 12 pounds, these beasts are known to steal a lure or two.

Additionally, central Florida boasts a robust environment for fishing, too – with large populations of largemouth bass; and significant resources to support hobbyists.

If you're unfamiliar with Florida bass fishing or do not have equipment of your own, you can always contract a central Florida bass fishing guide, who will boat you around the prime fishing spots, lend you the equipment you need, and instruct you on the best ways in which to catch bass – as well as how to select lures and how to understand fish behavior.

These guides don't only do saltwater bass fishing expeditions, either. If you prefer not to go out on the ocean, you can always go Florida bass fishing at Lake Toho or a number of different lakes and ponds in and around Kissimee and the Orlando area – some of which have had fish specifically transplanted into them for the sake of fishermen.
